CHEF / CHEF DE PARTIE

Salary: £18,000 per annum (pro rata)

Hours: Minimum 25 hours              

Reporting to: Head Chef  

 

About the role

We are now recruiting for an experienced Chef / Chef De Partie, to work in a growing café in the heart of Winlaton Mill. We pride ourselves in using local produce from around the area. 

Café Shrub is an enthusiastic, dynamic and friendly place to be.

You will be responsible to deliver freshly made to order meals during service for the café to a high standard. Also be able to undertake a varied list of food preparation, including baking for the kitchen on a daily basis and take full responsibility and accountability for your shift in the Head Chef’s absence. Additionally, ensuring that all policies and procedures are implemented.

 

About you

The ideal candidate must have experience of working in a cooking to order fresh food and baking skills. You’ll be passionate about the café culture and creating a great customer experience. Most importantly, you’ll be keen to get stuck in with a great team.  Having a good work ethic is essential.

This position could be suitable for, but not restricted to;

  • A café chef/cook looking for a new challenge in a busy but fun kitchen.

  • A restaurant chef/cook who wants to experience café culture with great hours.

  • Someone with an interest in vegan/vegetarian/gluten free menus (Ottolenghi-style food) and café culture.

BREAKFAST CHEF

You will also undertake a varied list of food preparation, including baking for the kitchen on a daily basis and taking full responsibility and accountability for the breakfast shift.  Additionally, ensuring that all policies and procedures are implemented.

 

About you

With a positive attitude, you will have the ability to handle pressure in a professional and calm manner.  A passion for food and delivering an excellent service, you will also have knowledge of food safety and health and safety principles.

CATERING ASSISTANT

Salary: National Minimum Wage

Hours: 10-25 hours per week

(various shifts available, seasonal and permanent; most will involve weekend working and possibly some evenings)

About the role

Catering Assistants will be involved with the day-to-day running of catering services, providing exceptional customer care and maintaining consistently high standards of service, hygiene and health and safety.

 

About you

You will be outgoing and enthusiastic, preferably with experience of customer service in a fast paced catering environment.  You will be an excellent communicator who is open, honest and acts with integrity.  You will be flexible and willing to tackle any task or role assigned to you with a positive attitude. 

You will ideally hold a food hygiene qualification, and have a good understanding of food hygiene and Health & Safety processes.
